Angel’s father has filed for custody. His drug addled brain just realized that his daughter comes with a big check every month. Good thing I saved the voice mail he left last week demanding I come get Angel. He even offered me money to do it. Of course when I got there he wouldn’t let anyone out or me in. Police, an ambulance and a lot of drama later I finally got her. Great parenting you ass.
Can’t Fight It Anymore
Posted September 8, 2008 by grettyCategories: are you kidding me?, the shame
Okay. Palin? Seriously? She’s just an ultra-conservative old white guy with a vagina. A vagina that she’s getting a little too much mileage out of considering the earth’s population problem. If you are so concerned about supplying the US with oil that you’re willing to wring it out of a baby seal, then here’s a suggestion – stop birthing more consumers! And Is it a coincidence that she looks like Tina Fey or are the Republicans trying to have us make some kind of subconscious association to hipness? (too bad Tina Fey is off SNL, she could totally rock Palin). Don’t even get me started on her horrific environmental record – anyone want to shoot a wolf from a helicopter? Give her a call.
And what the fuck happened to my blogroll????
(note: no offense to ultra-conservative old white guys, but politically speaking, it’s been done to death)
Fighting The Urge

Friends, you know I try very, very hard to stear clear of politics and religion in this blog. This election season is testing that resolve. I can feel a huge ball of rant building up.
Tangled Up In Tuesday
Posted August 30, 2008 by grettyCategories: gratitude 'n stuff, tuesday ten
It’s been a while, and given the state of…well, many things…I’ve decided it would be best for my soul to count my blessings. (Friends, worry not, the spiritual-speak is only a matter of convenient semantics. I remain blissfully unreligiousized!) I give you the latest installment of Tuesday Ten (formerly Tuesday Twelve).
1. All the major family players are currently alive and unhospitalized. At this point, it is much more unlikely than you’d think.
2. It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia has a new season starting in a few short weeks. This is the funniest fucking show I have ever seen. And I could use a good laugh right now.
3. David Duchony is a sex addict. Awesome! This means I still have a shot at him!
4.
My other family. Here’s a few of them just hours before I succumbed to sun poisoning earlier in the summer. I sat in the shade drinking water, they sat in the sun drinking beer. Go figure.
5. My new Zune. I can’t tell you how awesome the Zune is. So freaking easy to use. Loaded with unconfusing extras. And the standard issue headphones that came with it are the most comfortable I’ve ever used.
6. One recent relatively stress-free day with all my nieces.
7. I got an incredible haircut today. I actually feel like going out to show it off!
8. The stubborn belief that I will one day retire to a stone cottage in the Scottish Highlands on the shores of the North Sea or an out-of-the-way loch.
9. The insane amount of books I was able to acquire with an Amazon.com gift card I got for my birthday. The Zen of Zombie was not one of them so it’s still an x-mas option! (hint)
10. I am finally going to be treated for my thyroid. A good thing, but I’m still a little nervous.

This is the e-mail I got from my brother this morning, in it’s entirety.
“things are bleak here on the verge bankruptcy and loathing, and it is getting cold and raining”
Featured Exhibit
Posted August 28, 2008 by grettyCategories: indulge me
Today I saw the exhibit Capture the Moment: The Pulitzer Prize Photographs. It was an intense, draining experience. I may need a team of psychiatrists, working around the clock, for the foreseeable future, to recover from the experience. If it comes anywhere near you, make every effort to see it, but be prepared to be emotionally and psychologically overwhelmed. You can also order the book on Amazon.com or get it wherever. Here is the link to the exhibit’s site -

to Luckybuzz.
That is – the Jeff Tweedy song in my box.net. A beautiful rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Simple Twist of Fate”.
